Mechanical binary adder by syn2cat hackerspace 1

Several months of bending and soldering copper wires are gradually bearing their fruits. To be publicly unveiled at MNHN’s Science-Festival from November 10th through 13th, syn2cat’s 4-bit adder built entirely from copper wire, copper tubing, lead solder and marbles is nearing completion.

Catch a first glimpse of this ball-machine con calculator in the following youtube video:[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDm7Nk6CEgk]

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this device and special kudos go out to Gunstick and Nick17 for their tireless planning and coordination efforts.
